LBB Chicks
The key difference when comparing juvenilles of LBB's and HG's is to look at the tertials. Unfortunately, here the tertials have not grown. We still see the 'spotting' on the head and the mantle feathers are now growing. The feathers are dark brown with a 'coffee' coloured outline. These birds are probably 1-2 weeks old.
