This 'assumed to be' adult bird was shot on 22nd March in Cardiff Bay but is a different bird to the previous one shot on the 25th. Note the black mark on P9 in the second shot. Peter Howlett shot a similar bird on the 24th with dark markings on the upperside P9's. There is little information on the web to confirm that black marks on P9 are diagnostic of a 2nd winter bird so this could still be an adult. It does confirm there are 2 different Bonapartes in the Bay area at this time.
