Adult Winter 25/1/14

This bird was assumed to be adult, but the birds shot in Cardiff Bay in 2015 begged the question of age - given the dark marks on P9. On this bird, the dark marks are just visible - ie more than the 25th March 15 bird but less than the 22nd March 15 bird. It is interesting in the last image of the sequence, although a very poor record shot, a small dark patch can be seen at the base of P10 which could support this as a 2nd winter bird. Perhaps this returned in 2015 as the 25th March bird?
