Black Guillemots
In a typical year, the birds arrive for breeding in late Spring in their full breeding plumage. Eggs are normally laid and incubated from mid May to mid June and then the chicks are fed from mid June to mid July. Once fully fledged the families leave to spend the winter in the Irish Sea and loose the fantastic black feathers - ending up looking like white sea birds.
